Fighters chuckle as they ride on the bed of a transport truck, hurrying alongside a line of several dead bodies and driving towards the descending Sudanese evening sky.
"See this extensive work. Observe this mass destruction," one cheers.
The fighter smiles as he turns the camera on his own face and his associate combatants, their paramilitary badges clearly shown: "The victims shall all perish this way."
The men are celebrating a mass killing that humanitarian officials fear claimed the lives of more than thousands of civilians in the Sudan's metropolis of the Darfur city last month.
An Urban Center Isolated from the Outside
Following their control of the community under blockade for nearly two years, from late summer the militia proceeded to consolidate its control and blockade the leftover inhabitants.
Space-based imagery demonstrate that fighters started to construct a massive earth barrier - a raised sand barrier - surrounding the perimeter of the city, closing entry points and halting relief supplies.
During the encirclement escalated, seventy-eight people were slain in an paramilitary attack on a religious building on 19 September, while the international organization reported fifty-three more were murdered in drone and heavy weapon attacks on a displacement camp in fall.
Graphic Recording Depicts Defenseless Civilians Gunned Down
At dawn on October 26th the paramilitary force conquered the final army defenses and took control of the main base in the urban area, the headquarters of the Army Division, as the military withdrew.
One of the most horrific footage to emerge and studied revealed the consequences of a mass killing at a campus structure on the western side of the urban area, where dozens corpses were observed spread across the floor.
An older man wearing a traditional garment sat isolated surrounded by the victims. He looked to glance as a combatant carrying with a firearm walked down the stairs towards the victim. lifting his weapon, the fighter released a solitary round at the victim, who dropped to the floor lifeless.
"How come is this individual even breathing," one fighter shouted. "Shoot this person."
Satellite images taken on 26 October seemed to verify that shootings were also carried out on the roads of the city, as reported by a analysis issued by the academic research center.
An eyewitness who spoke said the individual had observed "numerous of our kin being killed - these individuals were gathered in a single location and each one eliminated."
Militia Officers Attempt to Implement Public Relations
During the period that ensued from the massacre, paramilitary commander acknowledged that his troops had carried out "atrocities" and said the events would be examined.
Among those apprehended was after a analysis recording his murders. Meticulously orchestrated and edited recording published on the RSF's official social media platform depict the commander being escorted into a cell at a jail on the edges of el-Fasher.
Meanwhile, the paramilitary force and affiliated digital profiles began seeking to reframe the account.
Updates depicting its fighters handing out aid to civilians were circulated by some users, while the militia's media office shared numerous videos claiming to demonstrate the compassionate treatment of army detainees.
Despite the social media initiative being used by the paramilitary, their activities in al-Fashir have sparked global condemnation.
