Soccer Analyst Chris Sutton Takes On Artist Murs in Top Flight Predictions

Arsenal's ten-match victorious streak came to an end by the Black Cats prior to the international break, however can the Premier League leaders bounce back against local foes Spurs this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still find a way to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, against artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of special visitors.

For the twelfth round, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

The singer's new album, the new release, is available on Friday.

Soccer and Family Experiences

Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of several charity football matches over time - but he is not planning a serious return as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a benefit game the other night for a mate of mine," he said. "The team was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I still love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my daughter or son decides to play instead."

Murs and his wife his partner have two children, Madison and Albert, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their manager.

"I won't push football on our children but I've already told my wife that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be coaching their Saturday soccer team," he said.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously owned a soccer team for a period too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I inherited it. He coached our team for several seasons and had great fun with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to wait a bit longer for their star's comeback from injury but their attack is already stronger with Pedro and Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this fixture will be quite close, however. Burnley are well organised and their sole home losses so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

This suggests a one-all tie to me, but I am in fact going to go with Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's prediction: 1-2

Olly's pick: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their previous couple games - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, West Ham won back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they do look strong again.

The Hammers' only away win this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when their boss Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest coach.

Therefore, what on earth do I go with here - can the Hammers continuing their streak under their manager, or Bournemouth responding?

I am going to choose the Cherries, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

The guest's outlook: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have improved under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the favourites for the drop before the season started, but they have impressed a several observers under their manager and are in good form with three in their last four games.

A family member advised me to get Bees striker Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks ago and, guess what, I didn't listen.

The forward will probably find the net again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had much fortune on the travel this term, and Brighton are consistently strong at their stadium. The visitors will attempt to attack on the break but I feel the home manager's team carry much more of a threat.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

The singer's prediction: It could be a match where you think there is going to be a many scores but it actually turns out to be rather tight. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their past six matches.

Fulham have have plenty of quality in their squad but it nonetheless feels like they could be sucked into a relegation battle.

Regarding the Black Cats, well they are the unexpected success of the top flight season so far.

The away side's display in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We've not witnessed anyone else disrupt the Gunners like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.

The logical choice would be to back the visitors here, because they are obviously capable of disrupting the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the end of last month.

But I am not going to do that. Instead, I really need to carry on opposing the away team with my predictions. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their good outcomes because they evidently love to defy my predictions.

Considering the home side's home record, the only side they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Marco Silva's side will be extremely eager for a positive outcome, so I am going to say they will pick up three much-needed points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I know Sunderland are doing well and additionally that the hosts are on a poor run... but they have nonetheless been decent at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard fixture to call. The Reds have lost seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but might they be among the teams who benefit from the {international break|
